CJK SACO Funnel Project

Page history last edited by nshiraishi@... 1 month, 2 weeks ago

I. Mission

  • The CJK SACO Funnel Project enables member institutions to submit proposals for additions to Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), LC Genre/Form Terms (LCGFT), LC Demographic Group Terms (LCDGT), LC Medium of Performance Thesaurus for Music (LCMPT), and LC Classification (LCC) schedules, focusing on East Asian area studies. In light of the linked data development, SACO supports the creation of controlled vocabularies, genre terms, faceted vocabularies and URIs. The Project’s goal is to develop a working model, and cooperate more systematically in order to propose new terms particularly pertaining to publications in CJK languages and/or on East Asian studies, that could be incorporated in the Library of Congress thesauri. The Project highly encourages and promotes the collaboration between CJK catalogers, Asian studies librarians and scholars. All participants and non-participants can suggest ideas of new or enhanced subject terms on SACO Proposal Form. The Funnel CORE members will finalize the proposal and submit to the LC online system. Any one interested in becoming a participant in the Funnel Project can contact the Project coordinator.
